In Egypt, a wealthy pasha (Suleiman Naguib) seeks the services of a tutor for his daughter, Laila (Layla Murad), to pass her Arabic exams. Hamam (Naguib al-Rihani), a poor teacher recently fired from a girls' school for his inability to discipline his lively students, takes the job. Refreshed by Laila's cheerful disposition and bright outlook, Hamam's dour attitude begins to change and he gradually falls in love with his student -- only to realize she has another suitor in the wings.
Ahmed is a music teacher in a small school. He takes care of his family including his blind mother and his little brother. His friend thinks he's a talented singer encourages him to pursue it and leave teaching.
