In this story, we will encounter an overflow of human suffering between love, pain, estrangement, ungratefulness and disavowal experienced by the main character “Layal” and the people around her whether they were her relatives or strangers.
Layal coming from a poor family whose provider died and thus the mother is obliged to marry another man who will play a major role in Layal’s life. At an early age, she fell in love with “Badr”, the neighbor’s son, and their love story held on to the age of youth. Unfortunately, due to Layal’s miserable social situation and under the pressure of her stepfather, she agrees to marry an old man and starts to avoid her lover “Badr” despite their great love;
Badr had no choice but to travel and complete his studies abroad and to get away from his beloved trying to forget all their beautiful memories. It happened that Layal’s house caught fire and Layal hears her brothers’ screaming asking for help; unconsciously she rushed over to save them but it ended up by burning her whole body specially her beautiful face. A new tragedy turning her life upside down and causing her to lose her attractiveness.
